Tanjung Tualang Prawn, Luen Fong Restaurant

Tualang Freshwater Prawn

This Luen Fong Restaurant  (GPS N4 19.547 E101 03.348) is located in Tanjung Tualang, a small town Kinta district which is famous for its freshwater Prawns.  The prawns were priced at RM 58/kg.  We ordered 1 kg and split into 2 dishes :- Egg Steamed and Soy Sauce Pan Fried.  The taste were indeed satisfying.

We also order other side main dishes. Other seafood dishes are also fresh and taste good.

Sarikei Prawn Noodle (Har Mien) @ Peking Restaurant

Sarikei Prawn Noodle
What you are seeing here is probably one of the best Prawn Noodle you can find in Malaysia (Locally known as 'Har Mien' by the Foochow folk). The restaurant, which is located at Jakar Town, approximately 10km from Sarikei, Sarawak is call Peking Restaurant (GPS N2 02.600 E111 29.669).  Unlike those Prawn Noodle (Har Mee) that is popular in Penang or Kuala Lumpur, this Prawn Noodle is fried before cooked in soup, giving it a smoked taste. As you can tell from the picture, the cook is very generous in their prawn portion.  All the prawns are really big and fresh (daily catch from rivers nearby).  If you are a prawn lover, you would definitely like this.  However, its quite pricey (RM16 per bowl compared to normal Noodle Soup at RM 4 without prawns).
